Our Candles & Melts

At Whiff and Flame, our candles and wax melts are at the heart of what we do. Every single one is hand-poured by the two of us in small batches at home, with care, patience, and a strong focus on quality.

We mainly work with coconut-rapeseed wax, which we love for its clean burn and excellent scent throw. Alongside this, we also use soy wax and, on occasion, beeswax for unscented candles. During Advent, we offer traditional unscented pillar candles, especially suited for German-style Christmas wreaths — a small nod to our roots and traditions.

Scent is incredibly important to us. We carefully test for both cold throw and hot throw, aiming for fragrances that are noticeable but never overpowering. A candle should gently fill a room, not dominate it. Clean, long burns matter just as much, which is why we never use paraffin wax in any of our products.

Most of our candles are poured into simple tins for everyday use, with larger glass jars appearing more often during the Christmas season. Throughout the year our style is deliberately simple and understated, but at Christmas we allow ourselves a little more creativity, decorating some candles with whipped wax and small wax figures to make them extra special.

Our wax melts follow the same philosophy: small batches, carefully blended fragrances, and reliable performance. They are designed for everyday enjoyment, moments of relaxation, and as thoughtful little gifts.

Above all, we hope our candles and wax melts bring a sense of calm, warmth, and a homely atmosphere into your space. Whether it’s a quiet evening, a gift for someone special, or simply making your home feel more inviting, each piece is made with that purpose in mind.

Handmade, slowly, and with love — just as it should be.
